SUPPORTING HEALTHY COMMUNITIES
Health care and social assistance professionals play a crucial role in maintaining the well-being of individuals in our communities. When you work at a hospital or senior living facility, you support the individuals and their families when they are at their most vulnerable. These roles offer a sense of purpose, stability, and the chance to make a lasting impact.
BCI’s Health Care & Social Assistance Support Program offers job training that equips participants with the skills necessary for successful careers in the health care industry. Our vocational training programs are designed for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), focusing on practical skills, communication, and professionalism.

HOW THE HEALTH CARE & SOCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM WORKS
The BCI Skills Center is a state-of-the-art vocational training facility dedicated to empowering adults with disabilities through job training programs. Our Health Care & Social Assistance Support Program helps participants develop the professional skills to succeed in a wide range of roles.
Step 1: Assessment and Enrollment
Each applicant completes a brief trial related to the Health Care & Social Assistance Program to determine if the coursework and line of work are an appropriate fit for them. If the vocation isn’t a good fit, applicants are guided toward other training opportunities or employment services better aligned with their strengths and interests.
Step 2: Customized Curriculum
Over the course of the program, students receive instruction in various areas such as sanitation procedures, patient interaction, and safety protocols. Soft skills, such as communication, punctuality, and teamwork, are also key focuses.
Step 3: Real-World Application
Students apply what they’ve learned in real health care settings, including hospitals and senior living facilities. BCI’s experienced staff works closely with employers to monitor progress and support each student’s growth.
Step 4: Program Completion and Job Placement
Upon completing 120 hours of comprehensive training in both vocational and soft skills, graduates are connected with inclusive employers in health care and social assistance roles. We work to match participants with positions that fit their skills and career aspirations, supporting long-term success.
