Boone Center, Inc. (BCI)—a nonprofit dedicated to enriching the lives of adults with disabilities through employment—has joined forces with Beltservice Corporation to establish a new job training program. Through this program, participants will acquire the skills and hands-on experience needed to begin careers as shop assistants, with a starting wage of $18.00 to $18.75 per hour, based on shift selection.
Beltservice Corporation, a family-owned business and the nation’s largest fabricator and distributor of industrial conveyor belts, operates with over 300 employees across North America. Headquartered in Earth City, Mo., Beltservice is committed to creating inclusive opportunities for people of all abilities.
Participants in the six-week training program will receive four hours of daily, hands-on instruction Monday through Friday. The curriculum covers essential skills such as machine setup, the use of hand tools, and precise measurement techniques, as well as training in reading and interpreting customer order forms.
Graduates who successfully complete the program and meet all hiring requirements will be offered permanent full- or part-time positions, with the flexibility to choose from first, second, or third shifts. In addition to competitive wages, Beltservice provides full benefits, including medical coverage for employees working 30 hours or more per week, along with 401(k) eligibility after 30 days of employment.
BCI offers over a dozen vocational training courses through its Skills Center spanning custodial services, healthcare and social assistance support, hospitality, manufacturing, and warehousing. Since its founding in 2019, the BCI Skills Center has successfully trained and placed 112 individuals in meaningful, competitive careers.
